Os Grandes Clássicos (2025)

Os Grandes Clássicos (The Great Classics) was an end-of-year showcase for dance instructor Gisele Albano’s students.
Her student shows have no set or host, it’s an open stage for students to perform, and instead they rely heavily on graphic design and screen projections to set the tone, engage the audience, and establish the pacing. The show begins with an introductory video introducing the main subject, students, and crew, followed by the making of (rehearsal and class videos), and the dance numbers begin preceded by a brief introduction of the choreography theme. The show lasts approximately two hours.
The theme of the 2025 show was the great classics of music, literature, theater, and film, consisting of sixteen student numbers, each inspired by a different work. The required deliverables were a logo, poster, social media ads, t-shirts, tickets, and screen projection videos.

The concept for the artwork is a classic Art Deco “The Great Gatsby” themed party. I chose a color palette of gold, black and white, and diamond shapes because they represent refinement, pomp and circumstance, as required by the theme of the show. For the fonts, I decided to use geometric shapes that would interact well with the graphics, so I chose Park Lane and Riesling for the logo and titles, and Avant Garde for the longer paragraphs.
The videos are intended to introduce the show, the performers and crew, and the dance routines. Each act was inspired by a different work, and I created 1-minute videos introducing each of them. The videos contain archival footage and background information to educate the audience on each topic.
In total, there were sixteen acts, plus the opening and closing videos and rehearsal clips, for a total of nineteen videos. Below are some of them:
