Hollywood Ainda Vive (2017)

Hollywood Ainda Vive was a year-end show for dance instructor Gisele Albano's students from three different schools, Conservatório Musical Jardim América, Cia Terra and Instituto Cuida de Mim.
Her student shows don't have a set or an MC, it's an open stage for the students to perform, and instead they rely heavily on graphic design and screen projections to set the tone, engage the audience and establish the pace. The show starts with an introductory video presenting the show, the students and crew, followed by the making of a rehearsal video, next the dance numbers start preceded by a short introduction of the choreography's theme. The shows run around two hours.
The theme for the 2017 show was famous Hollywood films and consisted of 19 student numbers, each one inspired in a different movie. The required deliverables were a poster, tickets, banners for social media, T-shirts for students and crew to wear during dress rehearsal and the show, videos for screen projection, and DVD case.

The design for the 2017 show was based on the Hollywood sign and exploring the concept of stars. In the poster and other print materials, the sky above the Hollywood sign displays a constellation of famous movie stars in iconic roles. In the opening video (shown below), each of the dancers are presented with a star just like on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The typeface used is called Engebrechtre, a vintage sans-serif font inspired on Art Deco, a style so characteristic of Hollywood's golden age.

The videos introduce the show, the performers and crew, and each of its numbers. Each dance number was inspired by a different movie which I had to create a short trailer (maximum of 1:30 minutes) for each one. In total there were nineteen films, plus the opening and making of videos from rehearsals and classes, making a total of twenty-one videos. Below are six of them.

All the print material was done using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. All videos and audio were animated and edited using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
