BRAINSTORMING ENTRETENIMENTO (2014/16)
Brainstorming Entretenimento (recently renamed Brain+) is a Brazilian theater production company from Rio de Janeiro specialized in producing shows and managing theaters and arenas. I was hired in November 2014 when the company opened the Theatro Net SP in São Paulo. I was the commercial department’s graphic designer, responsible for crafting all sales materials, mostly PDF presentations for meetings with investors for the company’s stage productions, and advertising the company’s properties for corporate events.
Below are some of the projects crafter while working at Brainstorming.
Broadway 360° (2015/16)
Sulamérica is one of the largest insurance companies in Brazil. In order to form a partnership with it, Brainstorming Ent. decided to craft a project especially for it. The project was called Broadway 360°, and its goal was to combine a circus arena, musical theatre and artistic installations to provide the audience a full interactive and sensorial experience. Under a travelling circus tent the audience  would walk through artistic installations, designed to explore the 5 senses, crafted by rising fine artists, before they reach the seats that surrounded a 360° stage where the musical would take place. The cast and company would interact with the public during the show and the dressing rooms would be open for visitation as well. The chosen musical was Chicago by Kander & Ebb, due to its original circus nature and audience identification.
The presentation was crafted in Photoshop and Illustrator in order to introduce the project to Sulamérica during a meeting in 2015. The presentation starts by presenting Broadway and its relevance, and how Brazil was already the third most important musical theatre market in 2015, only behind New York and London. After that the ideas of the travelling circus tent, the musical Chicago and the artistic installations are introduced. The presentation is closed by showing the schedule, costs, media package and contact page. The concept combines musical theater and circus related images blended with bokeh lights to provide an ethereal "dream-like" feel to the presentation.
Jovem Guarda: 50 Anos (2015/16)
Jovem Guarda was a 1960s musical TV show that introduced rock'n'roll to Brazilian audiences and  a new generation of young performers that are celebrated to this day. They started by performing Portuguese versions of hit American and British rock songs and slowly created their own original repertoire. The show had a huge cultural impact, changing the music, vocabulary, fashion and behaviour of the whole generation.
The idea of this project was to celebrate the 50 years of the show starring one of the original hostesses of the show, Wanderléa. Iconic songs would be performed while segments of the TV show and clips from historical moments of the era would also be presented.
The project was eventually produced in 2017 and renamed 60: Década de Arromba! (a very peculiar 1960s way to say "60s: Amazing Decade!").
Acessibilidade Kibon (2015)
This was a project to turn Theatro NET SP (currently Teatro Claro) physically accessible to people with disabilities, providing sign language interpreters to the deaf-mute and headsets for audio descriptions of the stage to blind people while also promoting sustainability.
This was the first version of the project, specifically personalized to Kibon, Unilever's ice cream brand. I created a fusion of their own branding at the time (typeface, colors, textures, etc.) with the theatre's visual identity to portray an union of the two brands and provided several simulations within the theater spaces and publicity so they could visualize how their brand would be advertised.
Natal Mágico Coca-Cola (2015/16)
This was a Christmas project designed for Coca-Cola, that is known for its extensive Christmas campaigns. Its title in English means "Coca-Cola's Magic Christmas". The project was supposed to be comprised of short skits of classic Christmas tunes starring famous performers along with low-income communities' choirs, dance groups and orchestra.
The presentation starts by introducing the show's concept, followed by advantages of sponsoring cultural endeavors, costs, media presentation and contact information. The visual conception is based on blending Christmas related pictures with artistic performances, especially focusing on Christmas lights textures throughout the presentation. Advertising suggestions mockups were included in the slideshow as well.
Eventos (Theatro NET SP) (2015)
The arenas don't only host stage productions, but all sorts of events as well, such as concerts, corporate meetings and even weddings. Therefore the company needed a brochure and a PDF slideshow to present the theater's spaces with detailed measurements and specifications to book these events. The material is very simple and direct, with large pictures of the outbuildings and previous events hosted at the theater.
Brainstorming Portfolio (2014)
Catalogue folder that was handed to possible sponsors during events presenting the projects seeking funding and the company's arenas. The layout is simple and only explores the brand's logo shape of two merged bubbles to frame the images throughout the composition to connect all the products to the company.
